Geography of Senapati
The town of Senapati is bounded by Ukhrul District on the east, Tamenglong District on the west, Phek District of Nagaland on the north and on the south by Imphal East District and Imphal West District. The total area of the district is 3721 sq kms. The town is covered with green valleys, hill ranges, streams and rivers. The major peaks of the hill range located here include Houdu, Khouchi, Koubru, Pgapu and Isii (Iso). About 80% of the total area is covered by forest and the rest 20% is arable land.Climate of Senapati
Senapati experience a humid sub tropical climate. The temperature varies from 35oC in summers to 3oC in winters. The average humidity of Senapati is maximum 92% and minimum 76%.
